University of Nebraska-Lincoln Looking for Assistant Professor of Composition and Rhetoric

The English Department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Composition and Rhetoric. The successful candidate will support the department’s Composition and Rhetoric unit in the area of composition pedagogy. Preferred strengths in one or more of the following: BIPOC and anti-racist pedagogies, community-engaged writing, or digital writing. Desirable secondary interests may include English Education, critical race studies, queer studies, and women’s and gender studies. Candidates will be asked to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise undergraduate and MA theses as well as Ph.D. dissertations, and serve on graduate student committees.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in English, Composition & Rhetoric, or a field relevant to the position by August 2023. Candidates must also have a strong publication record, evidence of successful teaching, and a profile demonstrating strong scholarly expertise in composition pedagogy.

Preference will be given to candidates with scholarly engagement in one or more of the following: BIPOC and anti-racist pedagogies, community-engaged writing, or digital writing, and a demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching practices.
